About the Role

We are seeking a customer-focused Loan Officer to support loan origination, assess applicant eligibility, and coordinate applications through approval and disbursement. The role requires sound financial judgment, accurate documentation, and the ability to explain lending products clearly while following applicable regulatory requirements and internal credit policies.

Suggested role profile: Full-time, office-based position for candidates with 1–3 years of relevant experience in banking, financial services, or lending.

Key Responsibilities

• Understand customer borrowing needs and recommend suitable loan products based on eligibility, affordability, and lender policy.

• Generate and follow up on leads through approved channels, customer referrals, and business relationships.

• Collect and verify loan applications, identity documents, income records, bank statements, and other supporting information.

• Review credit bureau reports, repayment capacity, existing obligations, and relevant risk indicators; escalate discrepancies or suspected fraud.

• Prepare application summaries and coordinate with credit, operations, legal, and verification teams to support timely decisions.

• Explain interest rates, fees, repayment schedules, and loan terms transparently without promising approval.

• Track application progress, resolve documentation gaps, and support completion of pre-disbursement requirements.

• Maintain accurate records in loan management or CRM systems and handle customer information confidentially.

• Work toward agreed sourcing, conversion, turnaround-time, and portfolio-quality targets while maintaining responsible lending standards.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or a related discipline.

• 1–3 years of experience in loan sales, loan processing, credit support, or a comparable financial services role.

• Working knowledge of lending products, eligibility assessment, credit bureau reports, and basic financial analysis.

• Familiarity with KYC, AML, and applicable RBI requirements relevant to the lender and product.

• Ability to review financial documents accurately and manage multiple applications within deadlines.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and comfort using CRM or loan origination systems.

• Strong communication, customer service, relationship-building, and ethical sales skills.

Nice to Have

• Experience with a bank, NBFC, housing finance company, or lending-focused fintech.

• Exposure to personal, home, vehicle, or business loans.

• Familiarity with digital onboarding, e-KYC workflows, and document verification tools.

• Relevant training or certification in banking, credit assessment, or financial services.
