AutoCAD Designer – Mechanical (Work From Home) at DesignCAD Craft

About the Role

We are looking for an entry-level AutoCAD Designer with a background in Mechanical Engineering to prepare accurate mechanical drawings and support engineering documentation. This is a full-time, work-from-home role suitable for freshers and candidates with up to one year of relevant drafting experience. A Diploma or B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering and working knowledge of AutoCAD are required.

Key Responsibilities

• Create and modify 2D mechanical drawings, component details, and assembly layouts using AutoCAD.

• Convert engineering sketches, specifications, and design inputs into clear technical drawings.

• Apply appropriate dimensions, tolerances, annotations, layers, and drawing scales.

• Check drawings for accuracy, completeness, consistency, and adherence to project requirements.

• Update drawings based on feedback from engineers and maintain revision records.

• Organize CAD files, drawing templates, and supporting technical documents.

• Coordinate remotely with team members to clarify requirements and meet delivery deadlines.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Diploma or B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering.

• Working knowledge of AutoCAD, including drawing tools, editing commands, layers, blocks, dimensioning, and plotting.

• Understanding of engineering drawing principles, orthographic projections, sectional views, and basic mechanical components.

• Ability to interpret technical sketches and specifications.

• Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach to checking drawings.

• Clear communication, time management, and the ability to work independently in a remote environment.

• Freshers may demonstrate their skills through academic projects, internships, or sample CAD drawings.

Nice to Have

• Basic familiarity with geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).

• Exposure to manufacturing processes such as machining, fabrication, or sheet metal work.

• Introductory knowledge of SolidWorks, Autodesk Inventor, or another 3D CAD tool.

• Experience preparing assembly drawings or basic bills of materials.
