We are hiring Area Sales Manager (ASM) in the Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) sector which is a mid-level leadership role responsible for driving sales growth, expanding market coverage, and managing distribution networks within a specific geographical territory. The role is high-impact, bridging the gap between corporate strategy and ground-level execution through a mix of team leadership and partner management.

Core Responsibilities
• Sales & Revenue Management:
o Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual primary and secondary sales targets.
o Monitor sales performance metrics (value, volume, and market share) and implement corrective actions.
o Forecast future sales trends based on historical data and market analysis.
• Channel & Distribution Management:
o Appoint, monitor, and maintain strong relationships with distributors, stockists, and wholesalers.
o Ensure product availability and optimize stock levels across all retail outlets to prevent stockouts.
o Expand the retail network by identifying "white spaces" or untapped areas for new business opportunities.
• Team Leadership & Motivation:
o Lead and coach a team of sales executives or representatives, conducting regular on-the-job training.
o Assign specific territories and targets to individual reps and track their daily performance.
o Foster a high-performance culture through incentive programs and regular feedback.
• Market Strategy & Execution:
o Execute local promotions, trade schemes, and marketing campaigns tailored to regional consumer preferences.
o Analyse competitor activities and market trends to adjust sales tactics in real-time.
o Conduct frequent market visits (typically 15-20 days a month) to track ground-level execution and product visibility.
Essential Skills and Qualifications
Success in this role requires a blend of technical expertise and interpersonal leadership.
• Educational Requirements: Often requires an MBA or Post-Graduate degree in Sales/Marketing, though many companies value 5–10 years of solid FMCG experience.
• Technical Proficiency: Expert use of CRM tools, MS Excel, and ERP systems for tracking data and preparing sales reports.
• Negotiation & Communication: Strong ability to influence channel partners and negotiate favorable placements and terms.
• Problem-Solving: Capacity to manage channel conflicts, resolve dealer issues, and handle supply chain bottlenecks
